CHAPTER - 6

AUTHOR'S POV

As the priest's final chant faded into the air, Yugant and Arisha stood side by side, two monarchs forged not by love, but by fire and pride.

The murmurs slowly turned into claps, blessings, and whispers that spread like wildfire through the crowd.

Together, they bent down to seek blessings.

First, from Prabhakar, who rested his hand on Arisha's head with a proud, gentle smile.

"You're one of us now, beta. May you bring strength to this family."

Vasundhara, his grandmother, blessed her too though her smile was restrained, eyes calculating.

"A queen must always know when to bow and when to stand tall," she said in her low voice.

Arisha met her gaze without flinching, a silent acknowledgment that she understood the game.

Pratap, Yugant's father, only placed a hand on his daughter-in-law's shoulder, not meeting Yugant's eyes.

Amrita, however, drew Arisha into a warm embrace, whispering, "Welcome home, beti."

For a flicker of a moment, Arisha's chest softened.. warmth, perhaps real for the first time tonight.

Meanwhile, Mihir was anything but solemn. He stood near the edge of the mandap, leaning casually toward Sanvi, his tone playful.

"Did you see how your sister just made a deal in the middle of a wedding?" he grinned. "I swear, I'm impressed. But honestly-" his voice dropped, teasing, "-you're far more distracting."

Sanvi's cheeks tinted pink, though she tried to hide a smile. "You're impossible."

"Maybe," he smirked, "but you didn't deny it."

Ishan, however, wasn't amused. He stood stiff near the chairs, his jaw tight, hands clenched. His eyes followed his sister.. not with pride, but disbelief.

"She just... turned her marriage into a negotiation," he muttered.

Mahika, trying to ease the storm, walked closer. "You're angry," she said softly, "but maybe she just saved you all. Your family's name, your respect-"

"She shouldn't have to save anyone," he snapped. "Not like this. Marriage isn't a business deal."

Mahika frowned, glancing toward her brother and Arisha. "In their world, maybe it is."

Ishan's anger flickered into silence, and his eyes softened slightly as he saw Arisha bowing before elders, every step measured, graceful like a queen accepting her throne.

He exhaled. "She's changed, Mahika."

Mahika nodded. "Or maybe she's always been like this. You just never saw her power before."

Back at the mandap, Yugant's gaze slid toward Arisha and though his face was unreadable, his thoughts whispered one truth.

"You're not just mine, Arisha. You're my equal now. And that... is dangerous."

The crowd had started dispersing, whispers fading into distance as the royal cars lined outside the venue.

The Raghuvanshi elders had already left, eager to prepare the palace for the new queen's arrival.

Only a few remained now.. Yugant, towering and composed beside his bride; Mihir and Mahika standing quietly behind; and Advay, holding his tablet, wisely silent.

Arisha turned one last time toward her family. Her eyes, calm yet cutting, landed first on Ishan.

She stepped forward, arms open. For a moment, the strong businesswoman, the unshakable negotiator, simply became a sister.

"Bhai..." she whispered, and he sighed, pulling her into a tight hug. His anger was still there.. the disbelief, the confusion but under it, love remained.

"Just... stay happy," he murmured.

"I'll do more than that," she replied, her tone soft yet layered with meaning.

When she turned to Sanvi, her expression melted into a genuine smile.

Sanvi hugged her tight, whispering, "You never stop surprising me, Isha."

"That's my charm," Arisha chuckled lightly, brushing a tear from her cousin's cheek before stepping back.

Then she straightened, her gaze moving toward her uncle Vikram and aunty Meghna, who stood uneasy, avoiding her eyes.

Her smile turned razor-sharp.

"Oh, and by the way," she said casually, "your daughter is in the storeroom."

The air froze.

Vedant's eyes widened. "What... what are you saying?"

Arisha tilted her head, unbothered. "She's safe. Just a little shaken, maybe. Running in bridal attire can't be easy."

Vedant's face darkened. "You did all this?"

She smiled.. calm, confident, deadly.

"Oh, I didn't do anything. I just... prevented your daughter from doing something stupid. She was about to run away with her ex-boyfriend. I only made sure she didn't ruin your reputation more than she already has."

Mahika's eyes widened, and she leaned close to Mihir, whispering under her breath, "Bhai... she's even more dangerous than Yugant Bhai."

Mihir muttered back, still stunned, "And somehow... I think bhai just realised that too."

Vikram scowled, his voice sharp. "You should've left her. Let her suffer the consequences. Maybe then, she'd have married Yugant."

Arisha turned toward him, her gaze cold but amused. "But he didn't want to marry her."

The words sliced through the air like a blade.

Every eye turned toward Yugant, who simply stood still.. calm, unreadable, but the faintest hint of a smirk touched his lips.

Arisha's gaze flickered to him and that smirk deepened. He knew what that meant.

She knew.

Then she turned back to her family, voice firm and edged with quiet triumph.

"When fate hands you a chance to turn the table... you don't walk away. You play the game. And I just did."

Her tone lowered, dangerous yet graceful.

"I took the business from you, not because I needed it, but because I could. And because you deserved to lose it."

She stepped closer, her eyes locked on Vedant's.

"Now you all understand something very clearly.. if I want, I can ruin you in minutes. But today, I won't. Because for once, I've earned something greater."

Her gaze drifted toward Yugant, her lips curving into a bold smile.

"My husband is a king. And I-" her eyes gleamed with fire, "-am his queen."

Vedant clenched his fists, his jaw trembling in humiliation. No one dared to speak.

Yugant took a slow step forward, standing beside her.. tall, composed, but the glint in his eyes said it all: She's every bit like me.

Without another word, he extended his hand. "Let's go, Rani sa."

Arisha took his hand, not in surrender, but in declaration.

Together, they turned and walked out of the hall, leaving the Rawals frozen in silence.

Behind them, Mahika exhaled softly, shaking her head. "She's terrifying."

Mihir chuckled under his breath, still dazed. "Perfect match for bhai."

And Advay quietly muttered, "God save the palace."

As Arisha sat inside the royal car beside Yugant, silence filled the air.. thick, heavy, and suffocating.

Outside, the night sky glittered with lights from the grand palace that awaited them, the Raghuvanshi mansion.. now her new home.

The rhythmic hum of the car engine blended with the faint sound of her bangles clinking as she crossed her arms, her sharp eyes fixed on the window.

Yugant leaned slightly back, his sharp gaze studying her from the corner of his eye.

"You don't seem like a bride who just married Rajasthan's king," he commented dryly.

Arisha's lips curved, but it wasn't a smile, it was a smirk. "And you don't seem like a man who just got everything he wanted."

He chuckled lowly. "Everything? You overestimate yourself, Mrs. Raghuvanshi."

Her gaze snapped to him, unflinching.

"No, Mr. Raghuvanshi, I don't. Because I know what I bring to the table.. And you..." she let her eyes scan him deliberately, "you only know how to play games until someone beats you at your own."

Yugant's jaw ticked, but amusement danced in his eyes. "You think you've won?"

"I don't think," Arisha said calmly, her voice almost teasing. "I know."

The car rolled to a stop in front of the sprawling Raghuvanshi mansion, a royal fortress glowing under the moonlight.

The guards lined up on either side, bowing deeply. A grand carpet was rolled out, flower petals showered as the newlyweds stepped out.

Arisha took her first step, holding her head high, every inch a queen.

The air shifted. Even without trying, she commanded attention. Yugant followed, his expression unreadable, but his mind was already racing, she was not the soft girl he thought she could be.

As they entered the mansion, Amrita and Meenakshi stood waiting with the ceremonial thali.

Amrita's eyes gleamed as she said, "Welcome home, Arisha. Welcome to the Raghuvanshi palace."

Arisha folded her hands gracefully, touching their feet for blessings.

When she stood, Yugant leaned slightly closer and murmured so only she could hear, "You may have won tonight, Arisha... but this house belongs to me. Let's see how long you last as its queen."

She met his gaze, unbothered. "Oh, Mr. Raghuvanshi," she whispered back with a hint of a smile, "you'll realise soon enough, this house might belong to you, but the throne will belong to me."

The soft clang of temple bells echoed through the grand entrance hall as Arisha stood poised at the threshold, the golden glow of diyas reflecting in her eyes.

The Raghuvanshi mansion.. vast, royal, intimidating awaited its new queen.

Amrita stepped forward, thali in hand. "Perform the ritual, Beta," she said gently, her tone carrying both curiosity and a test of grace.

Arisha dipped her feet in the vermilion water and stepped inside, her red footprints marking the marble like a queen's arrival.. bold, deliberate, and unafraid.

Every step echoed authority.

The family members exchanged glances, murmurs passing quietly, the runaway bride replaced by this confident woman who seemed made for command.

Pratap Singh Raghuvanshi observed silently from behind, his expression unreadable.

He had expected chaos, humiliation, but this girl... she entered his house as if she was born for the throne.

Yugant walked beside her, a shadow cloaked in calculation. The ritual ended, and servants stepped back. Vasundhara signaled them to prepare the newlyweds' chamber.

"Let the couple rest," Pranay said at last, his tone firm. "Tomorrow begins a new dawn for both the families."

Arisha inclined her head gracefully, touching his feet once more before turning toward the grand staircase.

Yugant followed, his eyes never leaving her. There was a tension between them, not of strangers, but of rivals forced to share a crown.

As they reached the royal chamber, the doors opened to reveal a magnificent room.. gold-embroidered drapes, a chandelier shimmering like a constellation, and a bed decorated with roses.

Arisha stepped inside slowly, her eyes scanning everything. She turned back, her voice calm but laced with sharpness. "So this is your palace?"

Yugant smirked. "Ours, technically."

She walked closer, stopping right before him, her chin tilted slightly upward. "No, Yugant. Yours is built on pride. Mine will be built on power. And I don't lose what I claim."

He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping low. "Careful, Arisha. Queens who play with fire often burn."

Her eyes met his without a flicker of fear. "Then I'll turn the flames into my crown."

For a long moment, silence stretched between them.. thick with challenge, attraction, and an unspoken promise that this union would be anything but ordinary.

Finally, she stepped aside, removing her earrings with calm poise. "You should rest, Your Majesty," she said softly, almost taunting. "You'll need your strength to keep up."
