AUTHOR'S POV
The wedding venue was a vision of regal splendor, draped in gold, maroon, and ivory.
The air was thick with the scent of fresh marigolds and jasmine, mingling with the soft smoke of incense.
The soft hum of traditional music filled the air, punctuated by the quiet chatter of guests eagerly anticipating the ceremony.
At the center of it all, under the grand mandap adorned with intricate floral arrangements and glimmering lights, sat Yugant Singh Raghuvanshi.
His posture was impeccable, exuding authority with every movement, shoulders squared, back straight, eyes scanning the crowd with cold precision.
Even in the most crowded spaces, his aura created a bubble of quiet dominance.
Guests whispered in hushed tones, some leaning slightly toward their companions.
He is both feared and respected, they thought. Those who had worked closely with him knew that one wrong move, one misstep in his presence, could carry consequences they would never forget.
Yugant’s eyes flicked over the venue with measured attention, noting every detail, the placement of flowers, the alignment of the seating, the timing of music cues.
Nothing escaped his gaze. Even the smallest mistake would not be tolerated.
Beside him, Mihir and Mahika whispered softly, trying to mask their nervous excitement.
Mihir stole glances at Yugant, seeing him so focused, so commanding.
Mahika’s hands fidgeted with her dupatta, whispering, “Bhai… everything looks perfect.”
Yugant’s lips curled into a faint, almost imperceptible smirk.
“Of course it does. Nothing less will do,” he murmured, voice low, calm, yet edged with steel.
Advay stood discreetly behind, ready to intervene at a moment’s notice, ensuring everything ran according to Yugant’s meticulous plan.
The staff moved quietly, careful not to draw attention.
Though the palace had hosted countless weddings, today’s event carried a different weight for Yugant.
This was more than just a ceremony. Every detail, every arrangement, every ritual, it was all part of a plan he had orchestrated down to the smallest detail.
And somewhere in the crowd, waiting for the entrance, was the girl who had unknowingly captured his mind, his heart, and his obsession.
Every heartbeat of the groom beneath the mandap throbbed with anticipation, possessiveness, and the certainty that she.. Arisha Rawal would soon be his.
The drums began their rhythmic beat, signaling the start of the wedding procession.
Yugant’s gaze hardened, his jaw tightening ever so slightly.
This was it.
The moment where his plans would either begin to unfold… or everything would change.
The wedding hall, which had been buzzing with anticipation, fell into an uneasy silence.
Guests and family members murmured anxiously, glancing at their watches and at one another.
The bride had yet to arrive, and the hour for the wedding was long past.
Vedant Rawal, trying to calm the growing chaos, raised his hands. “Everyone… please, you all should eat first. The bride will take some time to get ready.”
A reluctant murmur of agreement spread through the crowd.
Guests nodded and began to drift toward the dining area, leaving only the closest family members.. the Raghuvanshis and the Rawals behind.
Just then, Vikram Rawal, his posture trembling, dropped to his knees at the feet of Prabhakar Singh Raghuvanshi.
“Please… forgive us, sir! Kiara… she ran away with someone!”
A collective gasp rippled through the hall. Faces turned, eyes wide with disbelief.
Yugant, seated at the mandap, allowed a small, controlled smirk to play on his lips. The corners of his eyes glinted with quiet amusement.
Prabhakar Singh, ever calm but with authority underlying every word, raised an eyebrow. “Is that so?”
Before anyone could respond, the massive doors swung open and Pratap Singh Raghuvanshi entered, his voice booming across the hall. “What?”
The sound of his anger seemed to shake the walls themselves. His eyes scanned the Rawals, blazing with fury, before settling on his son.
Yugant’s gaze remained steady, cold, and calculating. He had anticipated chaos, but the raw audacity of the situation thrilled him.
His jaw tightened slightly, yet his composure never broke.
The room exploded into heated arguments. Voices clashed. The Raghuvanshis, proud and incensed, demanded explanations.
Pratap’s anger collided with Vedant and Vikram’s apologies, while the remaining Rawals stammered under the pressure of the household’s fury.
Mahika and Mihir exchanged nervous glances, sensing the storm brewing around Yugant, but also the dangerous excitement in his eyes.
Yugant sat quietly at the mandap, unmoved, poised, and utterly in control, his mind already racing ahead to the next move in the game that only he could play.
Ishan and Sanvi entered the hall simultaneously, faces tense but composed.
Their eyes scanned the room, noting the agitated expressions on both the Raghuvanshis and the Rawals.
“Did you find anything?” Vedant Rawal asked sharply.
Both shook their heads, their expressions firm.
“No, we haven’t,” Ishan replied.
Sanvi stepped forward, holding a sealed letter. “We just received this.”
A hush fell over the hall. Yugant’s eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening. He leaned forward slightly.
“Your daughter ran away with someone?” His voice was low, controlled, but it carried the weight of a storm.
“Do you know what that means? What about our respect… our reputation? I am the king of Rajasthan. If I don’t marry today, what consequences do you think we face?”
Vasundhara’s sharp voice cut through the tension. “Your elder daughter is not here. What about the younger one?”
Vidya, her eyes glinting with subtle cunning, nodded toward Sanvi. “Sanvi can marry Yugant.”
The words hit Yugant like a bolt of lightning. His eyes flicked to Mihir, who sat pale and stiff beside him.
No… this cannot happen, he thought. He will never marry Sanvi.
Sanvi herself froze, eyes wide, clearly shocked by the suggestion.
Before she could react, Vedant Rawal spoke, voice calm but firm. “My daughter Arisha can marry Rana Sa. Sanvi will not be able to adjust in your family.”
The Rawals exchanged meaningful glances, unspoken agreement passing between them.
They would not allow Sanvi to suffer for Kiara’s reckless choices.
Arisha, they reasoned, could bear the weight of the Raghuvanshis’ expectations. She was strong. She was the one who could face the consequences… and perhaps, in their eyes, atone for Kiara’s sins.
Yugant’s expression hardened, his gaze sharpening like a blade.
Ishan’s voice rose, breaking through the tension. “My sister will not marry for convenience!”and she will certainly not be a pawn in anyone’s plan!”
The room fell silent at the force of his declaration. Even Yugant, king of hearts and heir of a royal lineage, felt the sudden spike of conflict.
The air around him crackled with tension, the kind only a family’s honor, pride, and destiny could generate.
Yugant’s eyes flicked around the room, landing on everyone.. Rawals, Raghuvanshis, and even his own siblings.
He straightened in the mandap, the aura of command returning to him, dark and unyielding. This situation was far from what he had planned, but one thing was certain:
No one would touch Arisha, not now, not ever. And if she were to step into this palace as his bride, she would do so on his terms.
Vedant Rawal’s face turned red with anger. “Ishan! Do you think we have a choice? Kiara’s actions have left us with no other option. Sanvi cannot bear the chaos your sister has caused! Someone has to uphold our family’s honor!”
Ishan stepped closer, fists clenched, his eyes blazing. “And you think forcing Arisha into a marriage for the sake of reputation is honorable? She is not a tool, Dad. She will not pay for Kiara’s mistakes!”
Vikram Rawal, usually more composed, stepped in, voice sharp but controlled. “Ishan, calm down! You think we want this? Your sister’s happiness matters to us. But the world won’t wait. The Raghuvanshis are a powerful family, do you understand the consequences if this wedding is delayed further?”
Ishan’s gaze didn’t waver.
“Consequences? Do you think she will step into this palace knowing she was chosen because your elder daughter ran away? That is not marriage, it is imprisonment!”
Vedant slammed a hand on the ornate table, making the silverware rattle.
“Imprisonment? We are talking about respect, family, honor! If we do not act now, Kiara’s reckless decision will bring shame to all of us!”
The tension escalated, voices echoing against the gilded walls. Guests had long since retreated, sensing the storm, leaving the two families to clash in private fury.
Yugant remained seated at the mandap, his expression unreadable, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
Every word, every angle, every flaw in their reasoning was being cataloged in his mind. He didn’t need to speak yet. He didn’t need to intervene. Let them argue.
But as the debate grew louder, Mihir and Mahika shifted uneasily beside him.
Mihir whispered, “Bhai… this is getting out of hand.”
Yugant’s eyes flicked toward him, dark and sharp. “Let them. Chaos is useful if handled correctly.”
He returned his gaze to the Rawals, noting the cracks in their unity, the hesitation in their anger. And slowly, deliberately, the smirk on his face widened.
Prabhakar Singh Raghuvanshi, the patriarch, finally stepped forward. His voice was calm but carried the weight of absolute authority.
“Enough,” he said firmly. “Let the girl decide this. If she disagrees, we will not force her into anything. No one in this hall has the right to override her choice.”
The room fell into sudden, stunned silence. Even the arguing Rawals paused, absorbing the gravity of his words.
Yugant, seated at the mandap, felt a sudden chill run through him.. not of fear, but of frustration.
The careful plan he had crafted over days, the chaos he had been orchestrating, the anticipation of having her step onto his floor, into his life… it was slipping, even before it had begun.
His jaw tightened, and his fingers curled lightly on the carved wood of the mandap railing.
No… this cannot happen. He had envisioned control, precision, and certainty.
Arisha stepping into his world willingly was part of the plan.. but the possibility of her saying no? That had never existed in his calculations.
Mihir noticed the subtle tension, his voice low. “Bhai… what now?”
Yugant’s eyes darkened, narrowing into a calculated glare. “Now…” he muttered under his breath, “we make her want it. We bend the circumstances so she has no choice but to come to me… willingly.”
Mahika, catching the glint in his eyes, whispered nervously, “Bhai… that’s… risky.”
He smirked, almost predatory, leaning back slightly. “Everything worthwhile carries risk, little sister. But I never fail. And she… will be mine.”
Across the hall, Prabhakar’s words lingered, granting Arisha power over her own fate.
Yugant’s mind raced, every possible scenario playing out with the precision of a king plotting a chess game. He could not lose control. He would not.
Not to chance. Not to fate. And certainly not to anyone, not even her.
